The 5 Components of a Successful Online Business (Part 1)
Hey guys and welcome back to my blog. Today I'm going to be starting what I would consider a five part blog post covering some things I've learned over the last few months from one of my mentors.
It covers some critical elements to being a successful online marketer that I believe is very important for me to share here with you. Some of you guys may already be beyond this stage and that's ok, but as I've always said, I never forget where I came from and don't ever won't to forget about those just getting started.
So in today's session, we are going to be discussing the first part which involves the front of your business.
Front End? What is that you may ask. Well, if you've ever been involved or know someone that has their own store offline, any and every customer that comes into their establishment has to come in at the entrance or front door, correct? Of course they do and being online is no different.
But, the front door online is just a little bit different because it involves a website and not an actual physical door. Well, let's just say that it's the door to their online store and they will not be able to see your goods otherwise.
This is not just any website. It's a particular and a more specific site that is going to have a very strategic and important job. You see most people with an online business get this all wrong and even spend thousands of dollars sending people to the wrong site and we dont' want you make that mistake.

Now you've probably visited these types of sites over the recent weeks and months but never really given it any thought as to it's importance. It role is to be the first impression of your web visitor with you and what you have to offer to assist them. It's role is to offer a solution to a pressing issue or problem in the visitor's life or business. What is it?
Component #1- Lead Capture Page
It my friend is the entrance to your online business. It's purpose is to present an irresistible offer to your visitor that they can't refuse. The goal of the offer should be to help the prospect solve a problem or provide a solution to an impending issue in their life. It can come in many forms, but must be relevant to the issue at hand.
It can be an ebook, a video or video course, audio file, interview of some sort, software, opportunity to make money, etc. The only requirement is that it is of high value and will be useful to the end user. The objective is for it to be enticing enough for the visitor to give the website owner their contact details. It's not important to get into the specifics of what type of contact details, but just that you should be capturing it. Whether it's name and email or just email, it's totally up to you. Just test which ones yield the best conversions or results.
The whole goal is that both web visitor and website owner both are able to benefit from the exchange. It's definitely not a one sided situation where there is a lose-win scenario, but rather a win-win for all parties involved.
If you as a website owner attempt to do this any other way, like sending your traffic whether free or paid to a sales page directly, you're losing out big time simply because you will ulitmately lose out on your follow up opportunities if they don't take action on the initial visit.
If you capture their details, you are then able to follow up with them over and over again via your autoresponder service . Rule of thumb is that your visitors will not take any action upon the first visit and therefore a number of followups is required. Plus it allows your visitor to get to know you even more over time and a relationship will be established. Understand that people do business with those that they know, like, and trust. What better way to develop that relationship than through email follow up.
